theme song for a happy ending?

We sing a song at the beginning of every English class, and the song changes each month for each grade. Song of the Month for grade 9 is Mariah Carey's Hero, and Queen's I Was Born To Love You for grade 8. Both equally moving (uh-hmm) and both frickin impossible to sing! The grade 7s have been away hiking for 3 days, so their song will be revealed tomorrow.

I will hear these songs 19 times a week until I go home. The theme songs of my dwindling days in Daini Junior High School, Minamikawachi-machi, Tochigi-ken, Japan.

As with every other speaking activity, the students don't actually SPEAK! Some of them move their mouths in time with the music though. If it's an easy song that they like, a lot of them sing (but quietly).
I think singing is a good way to practice a foreign language. You say the words in a rhythm and you get used to moving your mouth a certain way to make the sounds. But appropriate song choice is important...
